This is the architecture we believe in.
This family home in Constantia draws from traditional Cape Dutch architecture, while stripping it back to its essential forms. Gable-ended volumes with pitched roofs echo the region’s historic homes, but here they’re composed with clean, sharp lines and dark steel-framed openings.
The plan unfolds as a series of interlinked pavilions arranged around a lush garden and central pool terrace. A modern veranda with circular cut-out anchors the outdoor fire pit, providing both shelter and sculptural interest. Outdoor living is prioritised, with covered patios, open decks, and seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Sustainable technologies such as solar panels and water-wise landscaping are subtly integrated into the design, reinforcing the home's contemporary ethos. Inside, high ceilings, large windows, and soft material finishes enhance natural light and connection to the surrounding greenery.
From its landscaped driveway to the quiet firepit courtyard and poolside lounge, this home offers a refined yet grounded approach to residential living—where architecture, ecology, and heritage are woven together in a timeless composition.
